Fun and Spooky Halloween

I know this post is a little late but better then never right?! So I am actually really not into Halloween all that much and always struggle every year to have a creative and individual costume.  I hate just going to one of those Halloween box stores last minute and picking out some skimpy costume that a million other women will be wearing and that I would be completely uncomfortable in.
So what do I do? Find inspiration from my favorite TV show How I Met Your Mother of course! And after a trip to value village and the dollar store I transformed myself into Robin Sparkles! For all of you who don’t watch the show she is one of the main characters past. Robin was a 90s Canadian teen pop singer. A costume that I thought was fun and cute!

So if you are going to get all dressed up you have to have somewhere to go right? Well off we went to a friend’s party.  But as my mother taught me good manners and never show up somewhere empty handed I decided to get creative and make a scary little treat!
For these ghostly strawberries you will need:
Strawberries
2 packages of Bakers white chocolate
1 package of semi-sweet chocolate chips (I used the enjoy life brand that are lactose free)
Olive oil
I put a package and a half of the white chocolate in a bowl and a little tiny bit of extra virgin olive oil mixed in to make it smoother. Place the bowel in the microwave for thirty second intervals while mixing in-between.  Once melted you can start dipping your cleaned strawberries and place them on a tray lined with parchment paper so that they don’t stick.
Once all the strawberries are dipped in the white chocolate, set them aside for the chocolate to harden. After about thirty minutes or so melt some of the chocolate chips the same way; I then put the chocolate in a sandwich bag and cut the corner so I could easily control the amount I use to draw the little ghost faces. Place the now decorated strawberries in the fridge for the chocolate to harden. And then ENJOY!
Hope you all had a fun and spooky Halloween!
