Monday Night Madness

I have really fallen in love with writing and sharing my journey in making changes in my life with you all.  However I am not going to lie, it can be hard to come up with interesting things to write about multiple times a week and it’s so easy to fall into writers block.  So in order to help avoid those issues I decided to create a very busy summer for myself, filled with lots of activities and experiences that I can share with you.
A few months back I was talking to a friend of mine who had moved to a new city and didn’t really know anyone. So I told him to get involved in an activity or beer league. Do something that’s fun and not so competitive where you can meet a ton of people. I don’t think he followed my advice but I decided I should!
 One of my New Year’s Resolutions was to be healthier in both the food I ate and the activities that I do as well as too meet more people.  With that in mind my dear friend Tasha and I came up with an awesomely brilliant plan to get exercise and have a blast while doing it. We joined a dodgeball league!! We have games every week for the summer and had our first on Monday night. I must say I did a terrible job with absolutely no strength behind my throws but it was soo much fun and a pretty good cardio workout as well.  As a result I am now determined to build up my arm strength so that I don’t throw a ball like such a girl :). I got to meet a bunch of people that seem pretty great and I am very excited to get the chance to get to know them.

 It can be really intimidating to try something new that is completely out of your comfort zone but it can also be super exciting and rewarding.  I am not the type of person that usually just jumps right into things, I can be shy and easily intimidated but I am definitely trying to change that as you can miss out on so many awesome experiences if you let that get in your way.
